Filtering Power Strip Gigawatt PF-2
The filtering power strip PF-2 is a result of almost two years of work of Gigawatt engineers. This strip has a special position among the Gigawatt offerings, because it is a product placed between a conditioner and typical power strip. The PF-2 is based on an internal architecture similar to the one used in the non-separated, filtering section of the Gigawatt conditioners. The proven solutions guarantee high working efficiency and true improvement of sound and picture of the powered devices.
The strip is equipped in six high quality Schuko output sockets with silver plated connectors. Those sockets are manufactured to Gigawatt exclusive specification. The connectors are factory silver plated without the usage of intermediates metals, like copper or nickel, which could introduce additional serial resistance and voltage drop. All contacts are free of ferromagnetic and the thick silver layer guarantees good contact with the plugs and lowers significantly the impedance of the connection. The strip is also equipped with a high quality IEC socket, allowing their user to connect any power cable. The Gigawatt LC-1 mkII 1.5m cable is supplied as a standard accessory with the PF-2 strip.
The enclosure is based on a double chassis made entirely from metal. This creates a perfectly closed shield, protecting the inside filter and power distribution system from RFI noise. The main element of the PF-2 power strip is a set of passive filters and a unique system of voltage distribution to the separate sockets. The noise from the power grid is filtered in a circuit using low inductance capacitors and over-current and over-voltage limiters in the form of TMOV varistors. The whole circuit is mounted in a double-sided PCB with silver plated traces of high cross-section. The voltage goes from the filter to the power distribution system by means of screw-tightened connections and silver coated, copper wires in Teflon isolation. The distribution system is based on three massive bars of a cross-section of 30mm2 each, made from slabs of pure copper. Separate bars for each of the sockets guarantee an even and stable power distribution, regardless of the load on each of the sockets. The power strip is also equipped with a LED signaling proper function and a polarization detection circuit signaling proper power line polarity or grounding problems.
Modern construction of the filtering power strip PF-2 is free from elements, used traditionally as protection, like thermal and blow fuses.
All Gigawatt products are subject to an insurance policy, that covers damage to the connected equipment up to 250 000 EUR.
