The power line conditioner PC-3 is a technologically advanced device for powering and protecting high quality audio and video systems. The conditioner not only protects from interference and over-voltages present in the power lines, but also guarantees a visible improvement of the sound and picture produced by the powered devices. The PC-3 is a well thought construction, made with care for manufacturing quality and using selected components and materials.
The conditioner was equipped with a very effective passive anti-noise filter, galvanic separation and voltage symmetrization units. The multistage anti-noise filter is mounted on a massive double-sided PCB with wide, silver covered traces. The function of the filter is supported by a buffer circuit, used to increase the current output of the conditioner with non-linear loads (like power amplifiers) and to decrease the difference between power on input and output. Modern construction of the power conditioner PC-3 is free from elements, used traditionally as protection, like thermal and blow fuses. In the galvanic separation unit high efficiency toroidal transformers were used, with triple electrostatic shielding and a shield lowering the dispersion field.
The conditioner has two pairs of transformer separated outputs, 1000VA each, and one pair of non-separated high current outputs capable of a 3500VA load. All those six outputs consist of a Schuko type socket with silver plated connectors. Those sockets are manufactured to Gigawatt exclusive specification. The connectors are factory silver plated without the usage of intermediates metals, like copper or nickel, which could introduce additional serial resistance and voltage drop. All contacts are free of ferromagnetic and the thick silver layer guarantees good contact with the plugs and lowers significantly the impedance of the connection. A standard accessory of the conditioner is the high quality, shielded power cable Gigawatt LC-1 mkII with 1.5m length. The conditioner has also a built in polarity detection circuit. It can also detect wrongly connected ground and has a precise volt meter with a LED display, measuring True RMS voltage. The volt meter is resistant to noise and measurement errors caused by higher harmonics, as well as does not generate any noise that could cause impairment of the conditioners filtering function. On-request the digital volt meter is available in other colours of LED display: green and blue.
The PC-3 conditioner is available in 2 colors of the anodized front panel, made from brushed aviation-grade aluminum – silver or black.
All Gigawatt products are subject to an insurance policy, that covers damage to the connected equipment up to 250 000 EUR.
