The HiFiClass portal has posted the first review of the PowerControl power conditioner.
Verdict in brief:
12 outlets give you the ability to plug in an entire, extensive system, virtually no dynamic limitation, eliminates DC, improves listening pleasure.
Overall: A well-thought-out device built for people looking to protect their systems, but also for exceptional enjoyment of music.
Summary:
The PowerControl is, on the one hand, a full-blooded conditioner that will protect the components connected to it, eliminate the DC component of the current, and provide adequate current output for almost any set of equipment including most amplifiers.
On the other hand, it will take care to preserve the high fidelity of recordings, which is perfectly audible with all audiophile productions, but also with less well-realized recordings it will make us continue to listen to them with real pleasure focusing on impressions, emotions and artistic value instead of sound as such.
This is a device for enveloping us with a rich, dense, but still clean, juicy, expressive, coherent and smooth sound, rather than for studying the mistakes of performers or record producers (although it is possible to hear them too).
So if you’re interested in the more beautiful side of music (without falling into the exaggeration of embellishing anything by force) then the new PowerControl may be just what you’re looking for.
If you expect even higher fidelity of recordings, you should expect to buy a more expensive cable from GigaWatt’s LS series
